Fire & Smoke

Fire! Its raging fury not only leaves destruction in its path but also secondary damage that can range far beyond the site of the original fire.
Resulting water, smoke, soot, odors, mold and corrosion can cause widespread damage to a structure and its contents. Halting the spread of this damage quickly is critical to minimizing loss.
Combining cutting-edge technology with staff expertise and experience, ACT has successfully provided response and recovery services for large-loss disasters resulting from fire to commercial, hospitality, medical and other properties coast to coast.

How we respond to fire
Our First Responders are on site within minutes. They are our eyes and ears on the scene, assessing the situation and providing emergency damage-control measures.
The ACT professionals, certified in all disciplines of disaster response and recovery, address the secondary damage resulting from the fire:
 |
Water
 | |
Water damage is virtually always present following a fire. Our certified disaster response professionals are trained in psychrometry, the science of restorative drying.
We extract standing water, then remove moisture from the air and walls, allowing carpets and contents to dry.
Our infrared thermal imaging cameras detect invisible moisture, eliminating the need to tear out and rebuild walls.
We extract this moisture from deep within the structure with our semi-trailer desiccant and low-grain refrigerant dehumidifiers, injectidriers and other drying equipment.
Our quiet equipment, which uses less voltage and fewer amps, minimizes noise and disruption for building occupants. |
 |
Soot
 | |
Building contents are quickly removed and undergo special cleaning techniques to professionally remove soot and prevent further damage. Soot that is not professionally removed may cause further damage. |
 |
Smoke and odors
 | |
These go hand-in-hand with fire. We utilize meticulous and powerful cleaning and air-scrubbing techniques to eliminate the sources of odor in the structure, contents and HVAC system.
A thorough decontamination of your HVAC system is critical to prevent soot, odors and other contaminants from traveling through the ductwork to your entire facility. |
 |
Air quality
 | |
HEPA-filtered air scrubbers and other specialized equipment help restore air quality. |
 |
Mold and corrosion
 | |
It is critical to dry water-damaged areas and contents within 24-48 hours to prevent corrosion and the growth of mold. By utilizing powerful fast-acting dehumidifiers and psychrometry techniques, we can dry out the structure and contents quickly to prevent damage from mold and corrosion. |
 |
Data / Document / Equipment Restoration
 | |
We quickly remove contents for professional restoration services that include special techniques for paper, electronic data, computers, peripherals and telecommunications equipment. Immediate attention is critical to prevent further damage. |
